Albany Tech Firefighter Training Tower dedicated

Current and future firefighters can now use a new training facility in Albany.
Albany Technical College and community leaders cut the ribbon to open the school's firefighter training tower Thursday.
The two-story burn building will be used by the nationally certified Fire Science Technology Program at Albany Tech to train emergency responders.
City leaders, including many firefighters who worked to make sure this training tower was built, were at the ceremony.
They say this tower will help train life savers.
Albany Technical College Fire Science Technology Program Instructor Don Laye said "Here is an opportunity for our students to get their training. Not only in our service area, but all of our volunteer firefighters can come here and get their training. And all the firefighters can come here and get their training."
The Albany Tech Fire Training Tower cost $115,000.
The college will use it to teach fire and rescue operations for its fire science, law enforcement, and paramedic programs.
